BEIJING, June 26 (Reuters) - An aircraft about the size of a car crashed into Beijing's tallest building, CITIC Tower, on Friday, two bystanders told Reuters, as police closed off roads around the skyscraper and stopped passersby from filming the scene.

RNLI lifeboat crews and a HM Coastguard helicopter rushed to the scene on Friday evening following a Mayday call from a light aircraft carrying two people.

The crash happened on Sunday morning.

The men who died Wednesday in an airplane crash into the Columbia River in the Tri-Cities were friends from Sonoma, Calif., flying to an event in Idaho. The pilot was Randy J. Peterson, 64, and his passenger was Eric Wayne Houston, 50, said Franklin County Coroner Curtis McGary.
